Since over 20 years Bernd Schille is designing and building special woodwind instruments. He was born in Germany in 1963 where he learned the craft of making woodwind instruments. After graduating he started his business: Bernd Schille manufactured handmade clarinets for professional musicians.

After 8 years he went to Switzerland to become the manager of a repair workshop for woodwind instruments in the largest music shop of Switzerland in Zurich. His further vocational way led him to Boston (USA) to one of the most famous flute makers in the world. There he became more an more interested in building his own Schille flute.

In 2005 Bernd Schille's dream came true. Together with his wife Marleen he founded the SWD Musicgroup and Schille Brussels was born.

Marleen Brebels work since many years for the VRT (Belgium Radio and Television). This artistic environment shaped her life. Since her marriage with Bernd Schille, Marleen is an important member of the SWD Musicgroup as head of department.
